I feel like it's inevitable that most pitchers go the Tommy John route.These kids throw so hard with so much velocity that blowing out a elbow comes with the territory

I started initially age and production for my first few picks, and then it's been a shitshow since. I've changed directions like 14 times.

I estimated Runs Above Replacement for each position using offense, defense and pitching stats. The most natural lane I fell into with my late draft pick was defense-heavy. I've been needing to pick older and temporarily injured players at times. I'm focused on trying to have the best team I can field come October, even if I have to sacrifice wins in the regular season to do it.
When two players are relatively even in my projection, I've been taking the youngest/healthiest.

I do something similar, except I've decided I don't really value pitching or defense. Also, my tiebreaker is based on walkup music. I've been developing a new stat, wOBA (Walkup On-Base Arousal) and a park adjusted version, wOBA+, that takes into account the hotness of beats and general musical taste (or lack thereof) in any given major league market.

Got Detroit being skipped at 9:58 AM Pacific time. A's will be ready to pick so hopefully the teams behind us will be so we can get through this round and start the daily schedule tomorrow.
