This was the first time that I was completely tied up with work and unable to bug people to get their pick in. Even though I gave the Red Sox a heads up, I had to prod Boston again (when I had a second from my phone) and then the pick was sent to me even though I gave him e-mail addresses for two other GMs.

I wake up at 7:35 am az time so I will be ready to pick then. Unless Diamondbacks takes the one player left on my list then I will need 23 hours and 59 minutes.

Might be some confusion on Cleveland's ML slots. He stated that was his 2nd ML slot used on Alzolay but the rest of his draft has no ML slots. So we might have missed who the other was supposed to be.

Sorry, you're correct. Mountcastle, Javier, and Alzolay Javier had more than 50 MLB IP as of the end of last year so he's not eligible. Mountcastle had fewer than 130 ABs, but are we allowing that retroactive designation? |

I have no issue with it. Seems to have been a mistake and I don't see it changing the competitive spirit of the league or the integrity of the draft.

I will reach out to him. He had stated he would own the pick, but I agree with you both that I think it would be alright to pick again. My suggestion would be to treat it as a skipped pick for now until he is able to pick again.

I have a question that I probably know the answer to. If team A trades a ML player to team B that already has (3) ML players, does that now automatic become a slot value contract or we not able to even make that trade?

The 3 spots were given to us during the early part of this draft, just to acquire those top prospects before we could officially draft players at the ML slot value. |

Houston is correct, the [ML] wildcards and slot contracts are just for the purpose of the draft and setting rosters. Teams who have used up their [ML] wildcards will still be able to add more [ML] players when the slot contract is either [0/.5/A1] or [ML]--depending on their real-life MLB experience. A player is who is on a [ML] contract to start this season will not change until the offseason after they have met the MLB rookie eligibility requirements (130 career MLB ABs or 50 career MLB IP). When that happens, they'll then transition to the [.5/1/A1/A2/A3] pay scale. Round
1 (1-15) 25M -- up to 4 years 1 (16-30) 22M -- up to 4 years 2 (1-15) 15 M -- up to 4 years 2 (16-30) 12M -- up to 4 years 3 10M -- up to 4 years 4 7.5M -- up to 3 years 5 5M -- up to 3 years 6 3M -- up to 3 years 7-8 2/A2/A3 9-15 1/A1/A2/A3 16-25 .5/1/A1/A2/A3 26+ 0/.5/A1 or ML |

Guys,
I'm assuming the only way we CAN'T use a player is if he's on the IL, That correct? So what if we pick a player not in baseball or in the majors ( kina like ML players) can they still be used? I think we went about this the wrong way. All players with projections should be able to be used. Too much guessing now. Who's on the IL, who's not, for how long, etc? Too much! We can't even get though a round under 3 days

Washington e-mailed me saying he has bad Internet at a camp site and the only name he gave me was Christian Vazquez--who was already selected. I can't pick someone for him so I have to wait for a name.
