2022 Draft Discussion

Again, the eligible players in our B1G 2022 Amateur Draft are prospects who were drafted AND signed from the 2021 MLB Amateur Draft as well as J2 international prospects who signed in the calendar year of 2021 (who are not already on B1G teams from the Inaugural Player Draft or scheduled for our upcoming Free Agency period this offseason).

Not even harshly worded, just trying to clarify who is eligible because an invalid pick hurts a team with their slot losing value while more players coming off the board until they select an eligible player.

Anybody have any thoughts or opinions on how teams have done in the draft? It's definitely way too early to make any definitive opinion on what the finished form will be for these prospects (especially 18-year old kids), but I think it's fun to speculate and look back on how the players progress. Considering the position of their picks, I think the Royals has a very solid class.

There will definitely be a time limit. I particularly want to give new people some time, but there's no need to keep it too long.

One thing we didn't explicitly address is whether players who are signed (once the Sign Players forum opens) that are from the 2021 MLB Amateur Draft or a J2 international prospect who signed in the calendar year of 2021 could be stashed in those 5 free additional draftee roster slots. I just wanted to raise the question and I don't have a preference either way. Another part is we do also have J2 international prospects who were drafted in our Inaugural Player Draft and whether they should get that potential designation. The eligible players so far from our Amateur Draft have been marked in blue italicized text on the B1G Salaries Sheet.

Seems good to me.

Does keeping the draft open for another week or end of the month seem reasonable?
