Teams will be responsible for 50% of a player’s salary for the duration of the contract upon release. Teams will have 3 days (72 hours) from the exact time of release to place a claim on a player. The claiming team with the highest waiver priority would then assume the player’s entire contract and the releasing team would no longer be responsible for 50% of the contract. If a team successfully claims a player, they will then fall to the bottom of the waiver priority. A player who passes through the claiming process is then eligible to be signed to a [0/.5/A1] contract—or [ML] if they have not accumulated the minimum MLB rookie requirements
If I am reading this right, if you don’t can’t claim a player there is no Bidding period before he becomes 0/500/A

Correct, there's no bidding on a player who has been released. Either you claim them and take on their whole contract or you would have to wait to see if they pass through waivers.

How does it work when we eventually have someone on a bad salary clear waivers and multiple teams try to sign 0/500/A at the same time ? From prior leagues, it will eventually start happening

If we want to say it’s waiver order breaks the tie, that’s ok but a bidding period for a day might make the most sense from my experience but I’m open to ideas

Is the current waiver order posted somewhere? I was just looking and couldn't find it.

Sorry, that's now posted. Does anyone have any other ideas/thoughts about adding a bidding period?

I think you have to go with what is stated in the rulebook until the next off-season. We shouldn't make a habit of changing things, unless there is a real oversight or issue.

How will waiver claims within the Blue Jays cuts be processed since they all have the same timestamp? In the order they were listed in the original post?
Just thinking of a hypothetical where the team with #1 priority puts in claims on everyone. I would think they'd be moved to last in priority after being awarded a first claim, but which claim would be the first?

Correct, the only fair way to do it is start closing them in order of when they were released. The team with the highest claim wins that first player in the order and the team immediately falla to the bottom of the priority as we process through the players. I posted them in order of the Blue Jays list in his post. This is one reason why it's important to post individually. Also posting the contract helps team determine whether they want to claim. The claiming deadline will end 11:42 PM (Central Time) on January 12th.

I agree with that and think the issue I’m raising won’t matter for a year or two. I’ve just seen good players get overpaid in FA. Have an off year in a real life and then get cut with 2- 3 years left and get 10 M per in bidding. To think a guy like that could get a 500k deal based on who times the post right, is an issue

This definitely may be more of an issue depending on seeing how bidding plays out in our first Free Agency.

I wanted to circle back on this now to see what we thought would be the best process. Should we just add a time window that's at least 24 hours (after the released players' claiming period ends) for teams to bid on a player? Other ideas or thoughts?
