This was a suggestion so I figured it would be good to put up for vote. I don't think it would be feasible to open up trading all future draft picks so this is to determine whether we should allow trading current year and the next year's draft picks. Discussion is welcome.

I think once the offseason starts the next year's draft picks should open up. They open up after the draft and would be eligible le to trade then so it does not make much sense to me to just wait.
It also saves the hassle of doing deals where you have to wait till the draft starts and whatever.

I disagree. First, I do not want the league to trade future draft picks. Second, it avoids the hassle of tracking draft picks which will not be used until some of us are long gone from this earth.

Draft picks were already traded this year and are tracked. We are talking about 23 picks which are already going to be tradable and tracked anyway after this draft starts. Essentially right now you are changing the timeline by months.

I think the current year and one year following is fine. We are talking about a minimal difference.
This won't be the NBA, trading away a 2025 draft pick. That's ridiculous.

I think current year and the next should be the limit. So in 2022 you could trade 2022 (current) and 2023

We'll keep this open a little while longer, but it's certainly trending in favor of allowing.

This will pass and we'll allow trading of the next future year's draft picks in addition to what we already allow (current year's draft picks).

Just want to make sure people saw this was approved. When updating the B1G Salaries Sheet, I'll start tracking the next future year's draft picks. I'll allow add the 5 free roster slots for this year's draftees that will be selected in the upcoming Amateur Draft. As per the Rulebook, each team gets 5 free roster slots for those draftees (in addition to your 50-man roster). If you have more than 5 draft picks, you don't get more slots--5 is the maximum.
