Given pace of play isn't an issue in simmed games, I don't see the reason for the rule. Then again, it also begs the question of what to do about the 3 batter minimum rule.

Given pace of play isn't an issue in simmed games, I don't see the reason for the rule. Then again, it also begs the question of what to do about the 3 batter minimum rule. The extra runner rule doesn't impact team construction whereas the 3-batter minimum rule directly does--encouraging teams to stay away from relievers with extreme splits and increasing the value of dominant relievers who can handle hitters from both sides of the plate. I don't see any way we can vote to consider changing that since we've already started the draft. |
