Since after this week we will be on July 5th of the season should we nail down a date on when the trade deadline is? At our current pace we would be simming that date on September 19th.

Yeah, I was going to include that with the next database. Since our trade deadline is July 31st in the simulation, it will be that corresponding real-life week. You're correct that our current pace would make that 2 real-life weeks from now with the trade deadline being the end of the day on Sunday, September 19th--9 PM Eastern, 10 PM Central, Midnight Pacific.

Thinking the longer contracts got teams thinking they can turn it around next year. Has some in a holding pattern and created a market of a bunch more buyers than sellers.

I wasn't surprised that there wasn't much action at the deadline. We just drafted entire franchises a few short months ago so I didn't expect people moving off big players so early. But I have to imagine someone like Colorado is kicking himself for not doing anything--adding or subtracting. At this point, they're killing themselves by having only 7 currently active pitchers.
