The initial build of the new database has been sent. Our next step is deciding on when to start the 2024 DMB Player Draft.
This is the same format (5 scheduled picks per day) and order as the Amateur Draft.
5 Picks Every Day
1. skipped by 9 AM CST
2. skipped by 12 PM CST
3. skipped by 3 PM CST
4. skipped by 6 PM CST
5. skipped by 9 PM CST

The DMB Player Draft is essentially an organized mechanism (that ensures equitable distribution by going in the draft order) to allow teams to add players with projections before the start of the season. Selecting a player in the DMB Player Draft is the same thing as signing the player so we'll utilize their current MLB experience at the time of the selection--the same as it would be during the season. Refer to the Pay Scales section below from the Rulebook.
The players who are eligible are the free agents who are active (not playing overseas or retired) with a projection in the database. You'll want to search those players to see who is active and playing for a MLB franchise either in the majors or minors. Teams who are at the roster limit of 50 are allowed to select a player, but they need to get back to the limit within 48 hours of their selection. Trading of this year's draft slots or selections in the DMB Player Draft is allowed.

Looks like the favorite option is starting tomorrow with the first 5 picks. I'll send an email announcement with this update. This schedule would have us finishing the 2 round of the DMB Player Draft by the end of Saturday, June 8th. Teams will need to be at 50 players (for the 1st Round and 2nd Round) to participate so those who are at 50 players and make their 1st Round pick will then have to release someone before their next pick.

While the clock will officially start tomorrow, we can have a soft launch if teams at the top already want to start posting their selections.
