B1G Salaries: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ka3bKWH9A7trmFk3lUzDlINe3gwmVzUjG1dGXPaQZwE/Players listed on the right side of the Excel under Arbitration-Eligible and Changing Salaries will soon be moved back over to the left side under the official roster. The deadline for releasing these players without any financial penalty will be 9 PM CST on Sunday, February 4th. After the deadline, everyone's salaries for 2024 will become official so releasing players after that point will result in being responsible for 50% of their salary. Remember that each team will need to get under the roster limit when those players are moved back over to the left side of the Excel. We also have plenty of vacants so please share with each of your spheres. Anyone willing to act as a caretaker would be greatly appreciated. All of the early 2024 ZiPS projections have now been released. Near the end of the B1G Salaries Sheet, I added two sheets with the projections from the pages for each team's ZiPS. There were players that weren't included because they changed MLB teams after that team's ZiPS were already released. Since every player's ZiPS are now live on FanGraphs, I'll remove those sheets on the B1G Salaries Sheet next week.

On what opportunities are there to switch cities? Colorado and I are both interested.

At this point, it's probably most ideal if almost everyone would take on a vacant (preferably in the opposite league). If you're interested, please let me know. Philadelphia has agreed to continue caretaking for the Blue Jays. We've given people more time than necessary so I feel pretty confident in saying the franchises listed below can be considered vacant.
American League: Baltimore Orioles Cleveland Guardians Houston Astros Los Angeles Angels Minnesota Twins Seattle Mariners Tampa Bay Rays Toronto Blue Jays - PHI
National League: Arizona Diamondbacks Cincinnati Reds Los Angeles Dodgers Milwaukee Brewers Pittsburgh Pirates Washington Nationals
Post in this thread if there are any other GMs who are eligible and interested in moving your rosters to a different franchise.

If anyone knows someone who might be interested in joining, please let me know. Any recruitment ideas are also welcome. With all of the superstars coming off the books at the end of this year (due to the cost control from our Inaugural Draft ending), next offseason will be a huge reset so hopefully we can get renewed interest like when we had a waiting list. If we can each take a team in the meanwhile, it will really help with Free Agency and making them appealing openings. Current vacant caretaking updated below.
American League: Baltimore Orioles Cleveland Guardians Houston Astros - CHC Los Angeles Angels Minnesota Twins Seattle Mariners Tampa Bay Rays - MIA Toronto Blue Jays - PHI
National League: Arizona Diamondbacks - BOS Cincinnati Reds Los Angeles Dodgers Milwaukee Brewers Pittsburgh Pirates Washington Nationals

I can make in an all Florida affair and caretake TB Thank you, the list above has been updated to reflect that. I feel comfortable with giving our existing teams latitude in caretaking. While signing Free Agents to 1-year deals doesn't add future risk, GMs are able to offer whatever deal they feel is in the best interest of the franchise. I went through the vacants to cut off (what I felt was) the fat, but you're also able to release additional players or make trades. My approach has been trying to add value wherever possible in an attempt to improve the team and make it a more appealing situation. You're able to draft who you would like, but we could also just automatically pick the highest available signed MLB draftee.

I would like to draft on behalf of the Rays. It’s usually my favorite part of this league so I want to do it twice.

Anyone else willing to be a caretaker? In regards to drafting, I've heard from Miami and Chicago that they'll be making selections for the vacants.

B1G Salaries: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ka3bKWH9A7trmFk3lUzDlINe3gwmVzUjG1dGXPaQZwE/The B1G Salaries Sheet has been updated with tentative tiers for Free Agency under the '24 FA Schedule tab. Since the proposed rule change doesn't have the necessary support, we'll continue with our Free Agency structure with bidding for each tier ending at 9:00 PM CST on a Sunday. The tiers I created don't have to be final yet. We can take this week to review and make suggestions as to whether anyone should be added, change tiers, or get removed completely. Under the '24 FA tab, there is a full list of who would be FA so more players are on there than the '24 FA Schedule tab. I tried to choose 35 players for 4 separate tiers (140 total) based on what we already know from the ZiPS projections.

Also, again making a plea for everyone to take on one vacant to bid on behalf of this Free Agency. With the Amateur Draft winding down, this is a very minimal responsibility. I can even provide a rough spreadsheet with ERA+, OPS+, and WAR for each vacant so you know which areas to target.

Since we want to finalize the tiers by the end of today in order to start bidding tomorrow, recommending players they should switch with is very much appreciated. I moved Canha and Muncy into Tier 1 in place of Jorge Soler and Alex Verdugo--so they have tentatively slid back into Tier 2.

Any other suggestions before we finalize groups? And will anyone else please volunteer to act as caretaker for any of the vacant franchises? It is a real benefit to the league as a whole if each of us take on a team--ideally if they're in the opposite league. The latest update I had is included below.
American League: Baltimore Orioles Cleveland Guardians Houston Astros - CHC Los Angeles Angels Minnesota Twins Seattle Mariners Tampa Bay Rays - MIA Toronto Blue Jays - PHI
National League: Arizona Diamondbacks - BOS Cincinnati Reds Los Angeles Dodgers Milwaukee Brewers Pittsburgh Pirates - OAK Washington Nationals
