Our 2023 DMB Player Draft is going to begin on June 5th with 5 picks scheduled every day. This schedule (included below) will allow us to wrap up the 2 rounds by Friday, June 16th. After that, we'll open up the Sign Players forum before sending out the Week 1 Database to officially start our season on June 19th. In order to participate in the 2023 DMB Player Draft, teams need to at least be at the 50-man roster limit.

The DMB Player Draft is essentially an organized mechanism (that ensures equitable distribution by going in the draft order) to allow teams to add players with projections before the start of the season. Selecting a player in the DMB Player Draft is the same thing as signing the player so we'll utilize their current MLB experience at the time of the selection--the same as it would be during the season. Refer to the Pay Scales section below from the Rulebook.
The players who are eligible are the free agents who are active (not playing overseas or retired) with a projection in the database. You'll want to search those players to see who is active and playing for a MLB franchise either in the majors or minors. Teams who are at the roster limit of 50 are allowed to select a player, but they need to get back to the limit within 48 hours of their selection. We don't have the Week 1 injuries in the database yet so we won't add the Disabled List until after the draft. In a typical offseason, the DMB Player Draft would have been completed much earlier when the injuries wouldn't have been known, which is why we'll increase the potential roster capacity before we open the Signing Players forum--after the DMB Player Draft and before Week 1. Trading of this year's draft slots or selections in the DMB Player Draft is allowed.

C. Pay Scales
At the end of every season, players who reach the minimum MLB rookie requirements of 130 at-bats and 50 innings pitched will change pay scales and move to a [.5/1/A1/A2/A3] contract. The [A1/A2/A3] contract years indicate stages of arbitration. Teams will have until a designated deadline to release these players before those contracts become official.
During the season, a team who signs a player who has already exceeded those minimum experience requirements (as of that exact time of the signing) will be on a [0/.5/A1] contract.
