The B1G Player Draft will start on Thursday, May 6th, with the clock officially beginning at 9 AM PST.
When a team selects their player, they will also declare the number of years they are signing the player. For the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Rounds, a team can sign their selected player for up to 4 years at the slot value. For the 4th, 5th, and 6th Rounds, a team can sign their player for up to 3 years at the slot value. The draft slots for the 7th Round and beyond are contracts with the future control already built in so they don't require declaring years. A team would be able to forgo the salary/contract in a particular round if they choose to select a player that has not gained real-life rookie eligibility in MLB--as of the end of 2020, the player would have to have fewer than 130 MLB ABs or 50 MLB IP in their career.
In the 1st Round, a team will have up to 48 hours to make their selection when their pick comes up before they are then skipped. A skipped team can post their make-up selection at any time after being skipped, but it will be at the same slot value.
